2009 Summer Camps

Latham Soccer 2009 Summer Camps

Latham Circle Soccer Club will be sponsoring two Crossbar summer camps this year.

Typical Camp Itinerary

8:30-9:00 Arrival

 9:00-9:40 Joga Bonito “Pick Up”

The Joga Bonito movement portrays itself as dedicated to eliminating unfair and unsportsmanlike play from soccer, promoting fair and creative play as well as honesty and team spirit, and showing the true and beautiful side of soccer by having a motto of “play from the heart”. Cross Bar Soccer Camps believes soccer should only be played by the ones who truly love to play this beautiful game.

 9:40-10:30 Technical Skills

Cross Bar Soccer Camps will provide technical throughout all games, drills, and lessons. The technical instruction are built through repetition of a variety of exercises that the camp staff has mastered. The goal is to make each player more skillful on the ball as well foster each player into making quality decisions the games demands when you have the ball at your feet.

 10:30-10:45 Morning Break

 10:45-11:45 World Cup (3v3)

 11:45-12:30 Lunch

 12:30-1:30 Small Side

Small-sided games are games played on smaller fields and with fewer players than the adult game of 11 versus 11. Games of 3 versus 3, 4 versus 3 and 4 versus 4 are examples of small-sided game numbers. As you can see, playing numbers can be even or uneven and the game can be played.

 1:30-1:45 Afternoon Break

 1:45-2:45 Small Sided Tournament (1v1, 2v2, etc.)

  • We want our young soccer players to touch the soccer ball more often and become more skillful with it! (Individual technical development)
  • We want our young soccer players to make more quality decisions during the game! (Tactical development)
  • We want our young soccer players to be more physically efficient in the field space in which they are playing! (Reduced field size)
  • We want our young soccer players to have more involved playing time in the game! (More opportunity to solve problems that only the game presents)
  • We want our young soccer players to have more opportunities to play on both sides of the ball! (More exposure to attacking and defending situations)
  • We want our young soccer players to have more opportunities to score goals and make saves! (Pure excitement)

2:45-3:30 Soccer Skill Olympics / Crossbar Challenge

 3:30-4:00 Dismissal
